The Arhuaca are an indigenous tribe located in the upper basins of the Aracataca, Fundación and Ariguaní rivers on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, Colombia. The Arhuaca are very connected with the elements of nature. They consider that the Sierra Nevada is a human body. The peaks represent the head, the lagoons the heart, the rivers and streams the veins, the layers of earth the muscles and the grasslands the hair. With this ideology, the entire geography of the land is a sacred space.
